New York Fashion Week
Greetings fashion fiends. Now that we’ve wrapped up NYFW I’ve been digesting the magnitude of clothing that strutted down the runways at Lincoln Center. Let it be known there was the good, the bad, and the ugly this year. But what’s most exhilarating was the immense array of color. The departure from typical burgundy, navy, forest green, black, and brown really was a sweet surprise.
But seeing so many celebrities wearing Spring 2012 off the runway looks has also been a little alarming. Although Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, signaling another six weeks of what we can call winter, it is clear that fashion doesn’t play by Phil’s rules. Pastels and florals may not exist right now in nature, but they do find themselves on the outfits of Jessica Alba and Zoe Soldana. Who said color was only for spring?
So before I start posting my forecasted fall trends, I’ll leave you with this. Global warming has not only altered our seasons (thank God I didn’t buy that season ski pass), but the increase in Earth’s temperature has also left our designers a bit perplexed.
